time taken in the first case=3.5/25 =7/50 hr
time taken in second case=3.5/40=7/80 hr
so time saved =7/50-7/80=21/400 hr
time taken in second case=3.5/40=7/80 hr
so time saved =7/50-7/80=21/400 hr

Hi...dear .
here is your solution..
.If the speed limit in a city is 25 km/hr, then his travel time is
t1= s/V1
= 3.50/25 = 0.14 hr...
.
.
If he increased his speed to 40 km/hr, then his travel time is
t2 =s/V2 = 3.50/25
= 0.0875...
.
...Therefore, his travel time will gain by.
t=t1-t2
t= 0.14=0.0875
=0.0525hr
0.0525*60=3.15min....
hope this helps you...
