Given :-

  • Speed from town A to town B = 90 km/h .
  • Time taken = (1/4) h.
  • Speed from town B to C = 86 km/h .
  • Time taken = (2/5) h .

To Find :-

  • Distance between town A and town B .
  • Distance between town B and town C .
  • Total distance he travelled .

Solution :-

→ Speed from town A to town B = 90 km/h .

→ Time taken = (1/4) h.

so,

→ Distance between town A and town B = speed * time = 90 * (1/4) = 22.5 km. (Ans.)

similarly,

→ Speed from town B to C = 86 km/h .

→ Time taken = (2/5) h .

so,

→ Distance between town B and town C = speed * time = 86 * (2/5) = 34.4 km. (Ans.)

therefore,

→ Total distance he travelled = 22.5 + 34.4 = 56.9 km (Ans.)
