a motorist travelled 1/2 of his journey at 60 km/h and complete the remaining 90 km /h . what was his average speed for the whole journey

Acccording to the question,

Half journey travelled at 60km/h

Remaining journey = 1 - 1/2 = 1/2 = 90 km

Hence, total journey is 180 km.

speed = distance/time

speed for the remaining journey = 90/1.5 = 60 km/hr

Hence, as the speed is same for the first half journey and the remaining journey average speed for the whole journey is 60 km/hr.
