Given:-

A motorist travelled half of his journey at 60km/h

and other half of 90km in half an hour.

To find:-

average speed

Solution:-

Let's understand the concept :-

for finding the average speed we need to divide total distance by total time.

Total distance:-

{:}\longrightarrow 90km+90km=180km

Total time:-

{:}\longrightarrow 1hour+half an hour+half an hour

=60+30+30minutes

=120minutes=2hour

Average time:-

{:}\longrightarrow {\frac{Total\:distance}{Total\:time}}

={\frac{{\cancel{180}}}{{\cancel{2}}}}km/ph

=90km/ph
