A motorist travelled 122 kilometers before his first stop. If he had 10%of his journey to complete at this point, how long was the total ride?
why is my answer in decimals i.e. 12.20
and the right ans is 1220km...

the remaining ride is 90 percent

let the ride at 90 percent be X

so it will be 10x=122×90( because of direct proportion of class 8)

this implies X=1098

now the total distance = 1098 + 122

= 1220km
