Given :- mountain bike tire completes 20 revolutions and travels 136 feet. Rounded to the nearest inch, what is the diameter of the bike's tire? Use 3.14 for pi.

Answer :-

→ Distance covered in 20 revolutions = 136 feet

→ Distance covered in 1 revolution = 136/20 = 6.8 feet.

now, let diameter of bike tire is D feet .

so,

→ Circumference = Distance travelled in one round = π * D

→ 3.14 * D = 6.8

→ D = 6.8/3.14 = 2.16 feet .

now, convert into inch .

→ 1 feet = 12 inch .

→ 2.16 feet = 12 * 2.16 = 25.92 ≈ 26 inch (Ans.)

Distance covered in 1 revolution = 136/20 = 6.8 feet.now,

let diameter of bike tire is D feet .so,

→ Circumference = Distance travelled in one round = π *

D→ 3.14 * D = 6.8 → D = 6.8/3.14 = 2.16 feet .now,

convert into inch .

→ 1 feet = 12 inch .

→ 2.16 feet = 12 * 2.16 = 25.92 ≈ 26 inch (Ans.)
