Given :
Initial momentum of the ball = 25 kg-m/s
Time of collison = 50×10⁻³ s
To Find :
The Average force exerted on the wall
Solution :
- As the ball rebounds it travles with same magnitude but of opposite direction
- Final momentum = -25 kg-m/s
- Change in momentum = (initial momentum) - (final momentum)
= 25 -(-25) = 50kg-m/s
- Force exerted on the wall = Change in momentum / Time of collision
= 50 / 50×10⁻³ s
= 1000N
The force exerted on the wall is 1000N
