Kinetic energy of a body = (1/2)mv^2
where, m is mass of the body and v is it's velocity.

we have mass =20kg and
kinetic energy = 40J

substitute the values in (1/2)mv^2 = kinetic energy
and you'll get
(1/2) (20)(v^2) =40
v^2 = 80/20
v^2 =4
v= 2

Therefore, the speed(velocity) of the given body would be 2m/s.
