1) the initial velocity of the train will be 45m/s

Explanation:

final velocity of the train will be 0 as it comes to rest after travelling certain distance

therefore, v=0

a= -3m/S2 (given)

time= 15sec (given)

by using the kinemetical equation: v=u+at

we get, 0=u+-3×15

0=u-45

therefore, u=45m/s
