Answer:

I’m not sure you worded this correctly because I can’t understand. What I will comment on is how did the assistant know that he was killed by a gun? There are so many ways to be murdered. Even if the assistant did know there was a gun in the premises it could've been there for safety purposes. It would take several weeks to find results for fingerprints. Seeing that the cops asked the assistant to look around shortly after the murder this is what leads me to think how the cop knew.

Answer:

Following points are doubtful that is why police stated that assistant never went to the murder sight.

Explanation:

1. As people are already there in the flat such as maid, son and wife so it makes no sense whether the door was locked or unlocked.

2. A messy table is a very common statement of any crime sight.

3. Broken glass, not a valid proof.

4. Fingerprints on pistol could be authenticated after the forensic test only.

5. The open novel page may be or may not be useful proof.

6. Family members could be watching the TV channel.

7. Position of a family member doesn’t give any valid proof related to the murder.

8. If he has read the diary notes should be able to tell what exactly written on it.

Thus, various scenario’s makes the police doubt on the assistant’s statement.
