Iron: it has rusted/corroded to form iron oxide, hence the reddish brown color.

Silver: it too has corroded, forming a blackish layer on its surface. Gold on the other hand, is flawless and shiny, proving that it does not corrode

the changes in the colour of the metal was seen due to the process of oxidation.

Explanation:

  • Iron has changed into rust which is reddish brown in colour. This occurs due to the reaction of iron with oxygen in the presence of moisture of water vapour. the rust has very less tensile strength and hence it is prone to destruction.
  • The silver bracelet has turned into black colour due to reaction with water forming silver oxide. however gold has lesser reactivity with oxygen since it is a noble metal and hence there is no change in the colour of gold.
