There is no immediate effect in transcription.
However, when the mRNA is translated, translation will be terminated early as the anticodon of the UAG codon transcribed in the mutated mRNA corresponds to a release factor that separates the ribosomal subunits.
Implications will obviously be a dysfunctional protein because not all of its ended amino acid sequences will be synthesized in translation.
