HERE IS YOUR ANSWER;--

MYOPIC EYE means a person is suffering from near sightedness and is required CONVEX LENS  to cure his disease.

Thus,  Power= 1.25 D

By the formula,

Power =   1 / focal length (f)

so,

1.25 = 1 / f

f= +0.8 m Answer

Nature of lens = Convex lens as focal length is positive.

Question -

A myopic person has a power of 1.25 dioptre, what is the focal length and nature of his lens ?

Answer ==>

Given -

Power of Myopic person = 1.25 Dioptres

To find -

focal length.

we know that,

P = 1/f (in metres)

1.25 = 1/f

f = 1/1.25 m

f = 100/125 m

f = 4/5 m

f = 0.8 m

Nature of the lens which is used in the correction of MYOPIA by MYOPIC PERSON is

CONCAVE LENS.

ABOUT MYOPIA -

  • Myopia is also known as short sightedness or Near sightedness.

  • Myopia is that defect of vision due to which a person cannot see the distant objects clearly.

  • They can only see nearby objects clearly.

What is the far point of Myopia?

Answer ==>

The far point of eye suffering from myopia is less than infinity.

How myopia is caused?

Answer ==>

The defect of eye called myopia is caused :

(¡) due to high converging power of eye lens.

(¡¡) due to eye-ball being too long.

Which type of lens is required for the correction of this defect of vision?

Answer ==>

Concave lens is required for the correction of myopia.

Some other defect of vision of eye are :-

  1. Myopia
  2. Hypermetropia
  3. Presbyopia
  4. Cataract
