(b) The chemical compund electrolysed is sodium chloride in molten state to obtain sodium metal. During the process chlorine gas is evolved.

(c)  When calamine ore is calcined, carbon dioxide is produced.

(d) When cinnabar ore is roasted, sulphur dioxide gas is evolved.
