A narrow beam of light is incident normally on one face of an equilateral prism (refractive index=1.45)and finally emerges from the prism. The prism is now surrounded by water. (refractive index=1.33).What is the angle between the directions of the emergent beam in two cases.

Answer:

angle of deviation in prism is:Si+ e Alight incident normally on the face .i.e.i = 0 and r1=0 r2 = 60 degree.r2> critical angle.i.e = arcsin(1/1.5) = 41.81 degree. S = 0 - 1 + 60 = degree.

Answer:

Angle of prism = 60 digree

so <A = 60 digree

As material content of Prism = 1.6

=>sin(30+(Dm/2)}/(1/2)=1.6

=Dm/2=13.13=>Dm=2×13.13=26.26 degree (Answer)
