A necklace has been stolen!

You know the culprit is one of three people: Andy, Beryl, or Cammy. While only one stole the necklace, all three know who the culprit is. You interview each one:

Andy says, "Beryl stole the necklace. I would never lie."
Beryl says, "Cammy stole the necklace. I didn't steal the necklace."
Cammy says, "Andy stole the necklace. I didn't steal the necklace."

Any of them who are telling the truth are telling the truth for both of their statements; any of them who are lying are lying for both of their statements. Who stole the necklace?

a. Andy b. Beryl c. Cammy

Answer:

c. Cammy is the correct answer.

Explanation:

if I assume both the statements of Andy to be true what Cammy said would be true and false respectively which isn't possible atq.

If I assume both the statements of Cammy to be true then what Beryl said would be False and True respectively which again isn't possible

If I assume both the statement of Beryl to be true then both the statements of Andy and Cammy are false. That means that Beryl is in fact telling the truth and Cammy stole the necklace.
