REASON FOR A NEEDLE TO PIERCE CLOTH EASILY

A needle easily pierces a cloth because :-

• Pressure = force / area

• Hence pressure is inversely proportional to the area.

• Thus if area is decreased , pressure is increased.

• A needle has a very small area in its mouth

• Hence it can exert great pressure

• The needle is thus very sharp

• So it can pierce through a cloth
