The total families in the neighborhood were recycled is 225

Step-by-step explanation:

Given as :

Total number of families in neighborhood =  250

The number of families random selected for survey about recycle= 20

number of families randomly recycled out of 20 = 18

Let The total families in the neighborhood were recycled = N

According to question

∵ Out of 20 families, number of families recycled = 18

So, Out of 1 family, number of families recycled = \dfrac{18}{20}

∴ Out of 250 family, number of families recycled = \dfrac{18}{20} × 250

i.e  N = \dfrac{18}{20} × 250

Or,  N = 225

So, The total families in the neighborhood were recycled = N = 225

Hence, The total families in the neighborhood were recycled is 225 Answer
