it depends on the species your chosen if this species is superior one then it can affect the inferior species in that area if it is of same eating habit of any species in area then it can also affect that species you can take the example of of Galapagos Islands the grazing habit of tortoise and goats are same that's why the tortoise are wiped out from that area can also be beneficial in some cases maybe it is a Predator of some harmful species
