Islamabad: The City School F-8 Branch, Islamabad organised its annual function, 'LA Grande Fete' at Shah Abdul Latif Bhittai Auditorium, Islamabad.
Member National Assembly, Romina Khurshid Alam graced the event as the chief guest while a large number of parents, government officials and members of The City School regional network also attended the event.
Annual day was an occasion of celebration, feast and festivity where students presented their wonderful performances and exhibited their talents. Headmistress, The City School F-8 branch, Marriam Jamshaid with council members welcomed all the guests at reception.
The two–hour long stage show kept the audience in awe and left them enlightened as the show culminated. The show was opened with the name of Allah, the welcome song was presented by playgroup students depicting the beauties of nature. This was followed by the mesmerizing performance of nursery children in the form of belle dance. Belle dance was entailed by role play ‘the little red riding hood’. The budding music talents of the school in the form of school choir played and rendered mellifluous songs. The climax of the eve was African jungle dance where children confidently presented African culture through their enthralling performance and colourful costumes. Chinese dragon dance was second to none and received big round of applause from audience. The English skit- ‘Enormous Turnip’ was enactment of the idea of teamwork and unity. Dreams, a dance drama, which projected the concept of truth and honesty was a silent act with a social message that not only touched the hearts through powerful enactment but also stole the show.
