A nichrome wire PQ is dipped in water and current is passed through it. What happens to the current in the circuit and heat generated in the wire if the nichrome wire is replaced by an aluminium wire of same length and thickness as that of the nichrome wire?

Answer:

a

Explanation:

Dipped in water means it is short circuited.

The Al (2.65) resistivity is less then nichrome (100).

Current increases because Al wire resistance less than nichrome.  (I=V/R)

Heat of Al wire increases because of higher short circuit current. (P=VI)
