a) Nitrogen is essential for plants to grow, but farmers who cultivate pulses like green
gram, Bengal gram, etc do not apply nitrogenous fertilizers during cultivation. Why?

The gram plants have the capability to store the nitrogen in the air , in the root nodules , thereby enriching the soil . so , the farmers need not use nitrogenous fertilizers during cultivation

because the pulses plant have rhizobium bacteria in their root by which the plant take nitrogen from the atmosphere itself
