A non-ideal Zener diode, which is modelled as a voltage source (Vz) in series with a resistor (Rz), is used to regulate the voltage across a load. The values of Vz and Rz are 5V and 0.1Ω respectively. The maximum allowable current through the Zener diode is 800mA. Find the worst-case percentage deviation in the output voltage with respect to Vz.

Answer:

When it comes to zener diode, it is a specific kind of diode which is not similar to normal one. It let current to easily flow not just from the anode to the cathode, but in a reversed direction also, while the Zener voltage is successfully reached.  When it comes to Zener diodes, they have the doped p-n junction. The normal diodes break down entirely with the reverse voltage.
