Here, calcium hydroxide is a base and it reacts with carbon dioxide to formcalcium carbonate and water. Thus, here the salt is calcium carbonate and the acid is CO2, wherein it is a oxide of the non metal, carbon. However, not all non metallic oxides are acidic, because CO or carbon monoxide is a neutral oxide.
