This article is about superior/supreme courts. For the American rock band, see The High Court (band). For the Comedy Central series, see The High Court with Doug Benson.
Not to be confused with High Court of Parliament or High Court of Justice.
High court usually refers to the superior court (or supreme court) of a country or state. In some countries, it is the highest court (for example, Australia). In others, it is positioned lower in the hierarchy of courts (for example, England and Wales). A person who presides as a judge in such a court may be called a High Court judge, or, in some cases, a High Court Justice.
