no.of notebooks brought by the student=12
price of one notebook=30/-
so,actual price of notebooks before discount applied=12*30=360.
discount (15%)=360*15/100=54.
therefore,the student have to pay = 360-54= 306. for it...
hope it works..☺️

The student pays rupees 306 for a dozen books.

  • A notebook is marked rupees 30.
  • A student buys a dozen books.
  • Total cost of the books = 12×30 = 360 Rs.
  • Now the student gets a discount of 15%.
  • We evaluate 15% of the cost price.

Percentage = \frac{price}{total} × 100

price = 15 ×360 ÷ 100 = 54 rupees.

  • The discount given is Rs. 54.
  • Now the price that the student pays for a dozen books is 360-54 = 306 rupees.
