Answer:

Let ten's digit(first no) be x

So ,

Since the sum of two digits is 6

Therefore the second digit(one's digit)= (6-x)

Now, original no=10x+(6-x)

According to the question,

[10x+(6-x)]-18=[10(6-x)+x]

[10x+6-x]-18=[60-10x+x]

9x+6-18=60-9x

9x+9x=60+12

18x=72

x=4

Hence the number is 10x+(6-x)=10(4)+(6–4) i.e.40+2=42

It is -24. Here’s how : the sum of the two digits here is 6 (2 + 4). If you subtract 18 from -24 you get -42 ( -24-18), so now you have the two digits of -24 reversed to -42. The number could also be 42, as if you subtract 18 from it you will get 24, where the digits are interchanged also. So there are two solutions here using negative and positive numbers. KT

a+b=6 => a=6-b => a=4

10a+b-18=10b+a => 60-10b+b-18=10b+6-b

=> 18b=36 => b=2

n=10a+b=42
