Let the digit on 10's place be x n unit place be y.
NUMBER: 10x+y
FIRST CONDITION :
x=2y___________(i)
SECOND CONDITION :
(10x+y)-18=10y+x_____(ii)
Placing value of x in eq (ii)
10*2y+y-18=10y+2y
21y-18=12y
9y=18
y=2
Substituting value of y in eq (i)
x=2*2=4
THEREFORE,
NUMBER IS =10x+y
= 10*4+2= 42
