Let the 2-digit number be x and y.

The original number = 10x + y.

Given that sum = 8.

x + y = 8   ----- (1)

Given that if 18 is added to a number its digit are reversed.

10x + y + 18 = 10y + x

9x - 9y = -18

x - y = -2       ------- (2)

On solving (1) and (2), we get

x + y = 8

x - y = -2
------------
2x = 6

x = 3.

Substitute x = 3 in (1), we get

x + y = 8

3 + y = 8

y = 5.

The number is 35.

(or)

10x + y = 10 * 5 + 3

            = 53.

Hope this helps!

\huge\sf\purple{Steps}

Let us assume that one number is x.

➳ Other number = (8 - x).

Now, we have

☆ 10x + (8 - x) + 18 = 10(8 - x) + x

➝ 10x + 8 - x + 18 = 80 - 10x + x

➝ 9x + 26 = 80 - 9x

➝ 9x + 9x + 26 = 80

➝ 18x + 26 = 80

➝ 18x = 80 - 26

➝ 18x = 54

➝ x = 3

Therefore, one number is x = 3 and other number is (8 - 3) = 5.
