The number is 120.

Explanation:

Let, the number be, 'n'

25% of n = (n × 25/100)

              = n/4

When the number gets decreased by 25% then it becomes_

(n - n/4)

= (4n - n)/4 [∵ The L.C.M. is 4]

= 3n/4

∴ According to the problem_

3n/4 = 90

⇒ 3n = 90×4

⇒ n = 360/3

⇒ n = 120

Hence, the number is 120.

Check whether the number is correct or wrong:

25% of 120 = (120 × 25/100)

                 = (120/4)

                 = 30

(120-30)

= 90
