a number divided by 5 and then reduced by 18 gives 2 write and solve this equation


niti09: let the no. be x. x/5 -18 =2.... by taking LCM.....x-90=10 ... therefore; x=100

x/5=20
×=20×5
x=100

Let the number be x
Then
x/5-18=2
Now by transportation we take 18 ti the other side
Then
x/5 =2+18
x/5=20
Now we take five that side and it changes sign and becomes *
Then
x= 20*5
x=100
