Solution

Let the units place digit of the number be x

Therefore, the number at tens place = 4x

Thus the number is 40x + x

40x + x - 54 =  10x + 4x

40x - 10x + x - 4x = 54

27x = 54

x = 2

and thus, 4x = 8
