Answer:

Digit in units place = x

Digit in tens place = y

The number = 10y-x

10y-x = 10x-y-36

so 10y-y = 10x+x-36

9y = 11x-36

Given : A number is 36 less than the number obtained by reversing its digits.   its unit’s and tens digits are x and y respectively,

To find:   linear equation representing the given information

Solution:

Let say number  =  xy

Value of number = 10x +  y

Reverse number = yx

Value = 10y + x

number is 36 less than the number obtained by reversing its digits

=> 10x + y  = 10y + x  - 36

=> 9x - 9y  = -36

=> x - y  =   -4

=> y - x  = 4

x         y

1          5

2         6

3         7

4         8

5         9

y - x  = 4  is the Equation

numbers are  15 , 26 , 37 , 48 , 59
