Step-by-step explanation:

let numbers be x and 5x

therefore

50-x+10=100-5x

60-x=100-5x

5x-x=100-60

4x=40

x=10

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

Step 1 :Let the numbers be x and y. Assuming x be the greater number and y be the smaller number.

Step 2 : Formation of equations on the basis of given data

5y=x

50-y= 10 + 100-x

Step 3 : Now we have 2 equations and 2 variables. We can solve them by substituting the value of one variable into the other equation.

The equation we get are

x=5y

x-y =60

Now substituting value of X as 5y in the second equation.

5y-y =60

4y=60

y=15

Hence the numbers are 15 and 75.
