Let the number be a

A/Q ->
Average of its half,it's one third and it's one sixth is( 1/2a + 1/3a + 1/6a)÷ 3 = a/3

Now , a = 6 + a/3
2a/3 = 6
a = 9

Hence the required answer is 9.

Let the number be x

We know that,
Half of number = x /2
One third of number = x /3
One sixth of the number = x /6

Average of the half, one - third and one - sixth
=( x /2 + x/3+x /6) /3

= (3x + 2x + x /6)/3

=x /3

According to question,
x -6 = x/3

x - x/3 = 6

2/3 x = 6

x =18/2 = 9

Therefore, The required number is 9

Hope this helps!
