Let the number be X.

Number is 6 more than 2 times another number.

Let the another number be Y.

X = 6 + 2y. -- 1

Sum of the numbers is 24.

x + y = 24 -- 2

6 + 2y + y = 24 (substituting value of x in 2)

3y = 24 - 6

3y = 18

y = 6

Hence y = 6.

x = 6 + 2y = 6 + 6 = 12

Answer:

6,18 are the numbers

Step-by-step explanation:

let the 2 numbers be x and y

given that,

one number is 6 more than 2 times of another number it means 6+2x = y

sum of 2 numbers is equal to 24

x+6+2x=24

3x+6=24

3x = 18

x=6

y=6+2x=6+2x6 =6+12 =18

y=18
