A number is 72 more than the other. Find the
numbers of their sum is 48.​

Let that number be x. Then

Other number = x + 72

ATQ

x + x + 72 = 48

=> 2x = 48 - 72

=> 2x = - 24

=> x = - 12

Other number = x + 72

= - 12 + 72

= 60

Therefore the numbers are - 12 and 60 respectively.
