Your question

a number is chosen at random from 1 to 50 find the probability of selecting a number with a last digit of 1 ?

Your answer

Given

  • The no. from 1 - 50.

The numbers from 1 to 50 ending with the digit 1 are : 11 , 21 , 31 , 41 = 4 numbers

Total numbers from 1 to 50 = 50

The the probability having a no. that ends with digit 1 will be

  • Probality = Wanted outcomes / Total outcomes

  • Probality = The no. which have last digit 1 / Total no.

  • = 4 / 50 = 0.08

Percentage = 0.08 / 100 = 8%

  • So there is 8 % Probality for the required outcome given in question.

The numbers that ends with 1 are

11 , 21 , 31 , 41

Total no. = 4

Probality = 4 / 50 =0.08 = 8 %
