let one part of the number = x

second part = x + 10

according to the problem given,

( x + 10 ) : x = 5 : 3

( x + 10 ) ×3 = 5x

3x + 30 = 5x

30 = 5x - 3x

30 = 2x

2x = 30

x = 30 / 2

x = 15

therefore,

one part = x = 15

second part = x + 10

= 15 + 10

= 25

Required number = sum of two parts

= 10 + 35

= 45
