Let's assume the first number to be X Let's assume the second number to be X+10 =X 3 ---------- = ------- X+10 5 Cross multiply = 5X= 3 (X+10) =5X= 3X+30 =5X-3X= 30 =2X=30 =X= 15 =X+10= 25

let the numbers be 5x and 3x ...the difference is 2x
⇒2x=10(the difference between the nos is 10.)
⇒x=5.
so the nos are 3x=15 and 5x=25
