Let one part be x
Other part = x + 10
And as given,
x + 10 / x = 5/3
By cross multiplying, we get
5x = 3(x+10)
5x = 3x + 30
5x - 3x = 30
2x = 30
x = 30/2 = 15

Ans. : One part = x = 15
Other part = 15+10 = 25
Number = 15 + 25 = 40

Hi ...dear..
here is your answer..
.

Let 1st part be x and 2 nd part be x+10
so... x+10/x= 5/3
= 3 (x+10) = 5x
= 3x+30=5x
= 3x- 5x= -30
= -2x = -30
= x = -30/-2
= x = 15...
