let the first no. be 3x

then second is 5x

3x+10=5x

10=5x-3x

=2x

If 10=2x

then, x=10/2 i.e. 5

x=5

3x=5×3=15

5x=5×5=25

CHECK:-

3x should be 10 more than 5x.

3x = 15

5x = 25

5x-3x

25-15=10

So,

first part is 15 and second part is 25 and the number is 40
