ANSWER :

Let one divided part be 'x'

Therefore, the other part becomes ( x + 10 ).

The ratio of the two parts is 5:3

=> 5*Smaller part = 3*Larger part

=> 5*x = 3( x + 10 )

=> 5x = 3x + 30

=> 5x - 3x = 30

=> 2x = 30

=> x = 15

Smaller part = x = 15

Larger part = x + 10 = 25

The number is 15 + 25 = 40

Therefore, the number is 40 and the two parts are 15 and 25.

Hope this helps you
