If a number is divisible by 11 , if the difference between sum of odd and even places digit is "0" or multiple of 11.

Example :

(1) 31415

The digits in even places are 1 , 1

The digits in odd places are 3 , 4 , 5

Sum of the digits which are present in even place is 1+1 = 2

Sum of the digits which are present in odd place is 3 + 4 + 5 = 12.

Now difference between the sum of the digits in odd and even places is 12 - 2 = 10.

10 is not divisible by 11. So , 31415 is also not divisible by 11.
