Given :-

A  number is doubled to get a second number which is further doubled to get a third number. When these three numbers are added, it is found that the sum is 8 less than 8 times the original number

To Find :-

Original number

Solution :-

Let the original number be x

Now

When the original number is doubled than the second number will be formed.

Second number = 2x

When the second number is doubled the third number is formed

Third number = 2x × 2

Third number = 4x

Their sum is 8 less than 8 times of original number

Original number is x. So,

8x - 8 = x + 2x + 4x

8x - 8 = 7x

- 8 = 7x - 8x

- 8 = - x

8 = x

Hence

Original number is 8

\boxed{\boxed{\huge{\blue{\bold{\underline{To Find :-}}}}}}

  • All three numbers.

\boxed{\boxed{\huge{\blue{\bold{\underline{Solution :-}}}}}}

  • Let the number be x.

  • Then 2nd number is 2x and the third number is 4x.

By the condition,

( x + 2x + 4x ) + 8 = 8x

or, 7x + 8 = 8x

\fbox\pink{∴  \: x = 8}

So, the 1st, 2nd and 3rd numbers are 8,16,32 respectively.

Hence, the answer is the numbers are 8,16 and 32.
