x+20%.................(1)

then in second it is asked decreased by 10% so it will be like

x-10%.............(2)

by substituting these two so it will be like

=(x+20)(x-10)

=x•x-x(10)+20(x)-20(10)

=x²-10x+20x-200

=x(x-10)+20(x-10)

=(x+20)(x-10)

=(x=-20)(x=10)

  • so overall change in number as percentage is 10%
