A number is increased by 10% and then the increased number is deceased by 10%. Find the net increase or decrease percent ?

Solution :-


⊙ Let the number be x

⊙ Increased number = 110% of x

=
(x \times  \frac{110}{100} ) =  \frac{11x}{10}


⊙ Decreased number =
90\% \: of \: ( \frac{11x}{10} )



=
( \frac{11x}{10}  \times  \frac{90}{100} ) =  \frac{99x}{10}



Net decrease =

(x -  \frac{99x}{100} ) =  \frac{(100x - 99x)}{100}  =  \frac{x}{100}


Net decrease percentage :-


( \frac{x}{100}  \times  \frac{1}{x} \times 100)\% = 1\%
