A number is increased by 20% and then it is decreased by 20%. Find

the net increase or decrease per cent.​

The number to = 100

increase in the number = 20% of 100

=(20/100)×100 =20

increased the number = 100+20 = 120

the resulting number decrease by 20%

Decreased in the number =( 20/100)×120

=12×2

= 24

New number =120- 24 = 96

Now,

Net decrease =100 -96 = 4

Net % Decrease = ( net decrease / Orginal number × 100) %

= ( 4/100)×100)%

= 4%

ʜᴀɴᴄᴇ, ɴᴇᴛ ᴘᴇʀᴄᴇɴᴛ ᴅᴇᴄʀᴇᴀꜱᴇ = 4%
