Answer:

Let the number be 100

20% increase means

 \cancel{100} \times  \frac{120}{ \cancel{100}}  \\  \\  = 120

Then decreased above 120 of 20%

Then,

12 \cancel0 \times  \frac{8 \cancel0}{1 \cancel{00}}  \\  \\  = 12 \times 8 = 96

Hence value is 100-96=4

Hence answer is 4% decrease.

Step-by-step explanation:

Answer:

Let the number be 100

20% increase means

\begin{gathered} \cancel{100} \times \frac{120}{ \cancel{100}} \\ \\ = 120\end{gathered}

Then decreased above 120 of 20%

Then,

\begin{gathered}12 \cancel0 \times \frac{8 \cancel0}{1 \cancel{00}} \\ \\ = 12 \times 8 = 96\end{gathered}

Hence value is 100-96=4

Hence answer is 4% decrease.
