A number is increased by 20% and then the increased number is decreased by 20%. Find the net increase or decrease percent.​

Answer:

let the number be X

if it is increased by 20% then new number is

X*120/100

=6x/5

now this is decreased by 20%

so

= 6x/5 * 80/100

=24x/25

there is net decrease 1/25 *100 =4%
